About me .....

I have a partner, 3 kids and 3 dogs, yes, 3 of each!

I was a full-time lawyer, having been working for many years as Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives running personal injury files.  I decided to change my life. In truth I had been thinking about it for several years but the thought of being out of my comfort zone panicked me enough to stop me taking the plunge for some time.

I’d had enough of working in the law and wanted to pursue something I’d always been interested in, mental health. So I retrained as a Psychotherapist incorporating Integrative Counselling  and Hypnotherapy, which I now practice with excitement and enthusiasm.  The term integrative means that I use a variety of different models of treatment in my work to provide the best treatment plan for my client's.

I also provide a service called Hypno-Counselling which does what the name suggests and incorporates both counselling and hypnotherapy in one session.  It works really well for people that have deep rooted unresolved issues that want to move forward with their lives.

Experience wise, I worked for over 6 months  as a front-line crisis support worker in Liverpool dealing with people who really were in crisis, of all ages. Some were brought in my police triage cars, others were referred by mental health support centres or hospital A&E Departments and some simply walked in off the street. These souls had a range of mental health issues ranging from Personality Disorders, O.C.D, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, depression, anxiety or addictions or they hear voices, or, as I experienced, suffered with several of the above which made life even harder for them. My counselling skills were truly put to the test and I gained great personal as well as professional satisfaction from lifting people from rock bottom and putting them in a much better place.

I also worked  for 12 months as a Counsellor with Place2be working with children in a primary school in Wallasey, Merseyside.

I see a variety of client's of all ages, both private and also referrals from Employee Assistance Providers either via Zoom or by telephone.

There is no difference between sessions on Zoom/Microsoft Teams or face to face for effectiveness of treatment for counselling or hypnotherapy.   This means that I  treat client's anywhere in the country and in fact the world!  The testimonials on this website as well as my google reviews are, with the exception of 4 reviews, from client's that I have either dealt with via telephone or via Zoom/Microsoft Teams. There really is a lot to be said for no travel hassles alongside the comfort of your own settee or bed to lay on,  together with a cup of tea/coffee in your favourite mug to aid relaxation and comfort.

One thing that I have noticed is that stress and anxiety underlies nearly every condition I have treated in one way or another, hence my particular interest in combating it.

You may have noticed from my intro page that I am also a Pranic Healer. The Pranic Healing page will give you a brief overview of  the science and theory behind how it works. For me personally, it changed my views on many things in life and made me realise things are not always as they seem, anything is possible, and that the body and mind can be helped to heal in many ways.

If you have any questions or want to see if I can help you, please do get in touch and lets talk.
