About me .....
I’m 50 years old, I have a partner, 3 kids and 3 dogs, yes, 3 of each! Up until 2 years ago I was a full-time lawyer, having been working for 25 years as Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives running personal injury files. At 48 I decided to change my life. In truth I had been thinking about it for several years but the thought of being out of my comfort zone panicked me enough to stop me taking the plunge for some time.
I’d had enough of working in the law and wanted to pursue something I’d always been interested in, mental health. So, I signed up for a 3-year training course to become a qualified Counsellor and Hypnotherapist. I am now qualified in Hypnotherapy which I now practice with enthusiasm and excitement and am working toward my qualification in Counselling.
I work from home to keep my costs down, and because I also work part time as a front-line crisis support worker in Liverpool dealing with people who really are in crisis, of all ages. Some are brought in my police triage cars, others are referred by mental health support centres or hospital A&E Departments and some simply walk in off the street. These souls have a range of mental health issues ranging from personality disorders, O.C.D, Psychosis, Schizophrenia, depression, anxiety or addictions or they hear voices, or, as I’ve experienced, suffer with several or more of the above which makes life even harder for them. My counselling skills are truly put to the test and I gain great personal as well as professional satisfaction from lifting people from rock bottom and putting them in a much better place.
You may also have noticed from my intro page that I am a Pranic Healer. The Pranic Healing page will give you the science and theory behind how it works. For me personally, it changed my views on many things in life and made me realise things are not always as they seem, anything is possible, and that the body and mind can be helped to heal in many ways. I’m an advanced Pranic Healer so as well as treating physical ailments I can also provide Pranic Psychotherapy which compliments perfectly my work as a Hypnotherapist and Counsellor.
Having been asked if I provide Counselling services as well as Hypnotherapy I can confirm that I now offer a service called Talk Therapy which is not officially a counselling service as I am awaiting my formal qualification, but as counselling is my role in the Crisis Centre in Liverpool I see no reason why I cannot offer the same service to my private client's. I am an Integrative Therapist using primarily Person-Centred skills initially but then moving onto Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural skills as and when required. Each client is an individual and treated in a way which encourages personal growth and development. I provide a therapeutic space tailored to individual needs. I can also incorporate some hypnotherapy into sessions to provide a more holistic approach to a person’s well being
